A: Yes, at escorted-motorhome-tours.co.uk, we welcome you to bring your pets along on your Moroccan adventure! We understand that pets are part of the family, and we strive to make our tours as inclusive and comfortable as possible.
Since the U.K withdrew from the EU Pet Passport scheme and replaced it with the Animal Health Certificate, it has caused a few issues.
The AHC is only useful for 1 journey, valid for 4 months and can only be used for travel from U.K. to EU and back.
It cannot be used for travel from U.K. to EU and on to a 3rd non-EU country and return, such as from Spain to Morocco.
Firstly, get an EU Pet Passport as soon as possible issued in the EU, a rabies booster. Some EU vets may not transfer information from your AHC to a Pet Passport.
If you don't have a European pet passport, it can be obtained at any European veterinary surgery. However, please note that we will need a validation document (issued by customs in your country of residence) to include the rabies vaccination in the new EU pet passport.
With an EU Pet Passport, you can travel freely in the EU & U.K. and your pet will no longer require an AHC, provided the EU Pet Passport is kept up to date by an EU vet only!
If you already have a European pet passport but don't have proof of rabies antibody serology, you must have it done at least 30 days after the last rabies vaccination and wait for a positive result.
U.K. vets should not enter anything in your EU Pet Passport.
Once the veterinary surgery has all the documents and the health certificate, the veterinary surgery will process the paperwork with customs, who will review the information and issue the final export certificate, which they will send to the email address you provide.
The processing, and the animal's health check, together with the certificate costs around €60 per pet at the veterinary surgery.
If you have the documents, you can send a photo of the pet's passport, vaccination records, and serology results so that they can verify that everything is in order.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Brulina veterinary surgery for more assistance.
